The Indian Society for the History of Economic Thought (ISHET), in collaboration with the Young Scholars Initiative (YSI), is pleased to announce the YSI–ISHET 2026 Pre-Conference Workshop, to be held on 9 October 2026 at the Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.

The workshop is designed as a pre-conference academic event preceding the ISHET 2026 – Third Annual Conference (10–11 October 2026). It provides young scholars with an opportunity to engage with leading researchers, receive academic guidance, and strengthen their research in the History of Economic Thought (HET).


Workshop Themes

The workshop will consist of four thematic sessions:

Theme I

On Publishing in HET

On Researching Classics in HET

Who Should Apply?

The workshop is open to young scholars, including:

  • Bachelor’s students
  • Master’s students
  • Doctoral (PhD) students
  • Early-career researchers

Applicants should be pursuing or have a strong interest in the History of Economic Thought (HET).


How to Apply

Applicants are required to submit a 400–500 word Statement of Purpose (SoP) explaining how participation in the workshop and the ISHET Conference will contribute to their academic aspirations.

Please note that participation in this workshop is linked to the ISHET 2026 Conference, and participants are expected to register for the conference and pay the applicable conference registration fee.
